About Brandon Beam and The Beam Agency
I started this agency to do the job the way I think it should be done
I’m Brandon Beam, an independent insurance agent in Farmington, CT. I spent more than ten years in Connecticut insurance before this, on both the carrier side and the agency side, and I saw the same thing over and over: people buying policies they did not understand from someone they would never talk to again. Renewals went up with no explanation. Certificates took a week. Claims got handed to a call center.
In November 2024 I incorporated The Beam Agency, LLC in Farmington and started from zero. No book of business, no investors, no inherited clients. Every client the agency has today called, got a straight answer, and decided to stay. That is the whole business model.

What that looks like in practice
- You deal with me. I write the policy, I issue the certificate, I take the call about the claim. There is no account manager between us.
- I shop it. The agency is independent. I place coverage with A.M. Best-rated carriers including Travelers, and with excess and specialty markets when a risk needs one. If a competitor’s quote is better, I will tell you.
- I read the fine print so you do not have to. The difference between two policies is almost never the premium. It is the exclusions, the sublimits and the endorsements, and I walk through them before you sign.
- Same-day when it matters. A contractor who needs a certificate of insurance before a job starts tomorrow gets it today.
How a first conversation goes
You tell me what you have and what worries you. I ask about the things people forget to mention: the side business, the teenager who just got a license, the rental condo, the jewelry. Then I pull your current declarations pages and show you, line by line, where the coverage is right, where it is short and what it would cost to fix. If the right answer is to stay where you are with two changes, I will say that. Most first conversations take about twenty minutes, by phone or at the office on Forest Park Drive. After that, you will hear from me before every renewal with a plain summary of what changed and whether it is worth shopping again.
Credentials
I hold the CPRIA (Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor) and CLCS (Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist) designations, which is the industry’s way of saying I have done the coursework on both the personal and commercial sides of the business. The Beam Agency is licensed in Connecticut, holds a BBB rating of A-, and has a 5.0-star rating on Google. Read the reviews.
Outside the office

My family and I live in the Farmington Valley. When I am not working I am usually outside: hiking, swimming, or on a baseball field coaching during the season. A lot of the parents I have met through baseball became clients, and a lot of clients have become friends. That is the kind of agency I wanted to run, and it only works if the advice is good.

Who we insure
The agency writes business insurance for contractors, new businesses, restaurants and service firms, personal insurance for homeowners, drivers and landlords, private client coverage for higher-value homes and collections, and life insurance. Most clients are in Farmington, Unionville, Avon, Simsbury, Canton, Burlington, West Hartford, Plainville, Bristol and New Britain, with others across Hartford County and the state.
